Overview Ark’s founders have first hand experience in the shifting trends in music and technology, seeing what is possible, the numerous approaches and the limitations, and creating a solution based on these unique insights. The startup reflects a genuine meeting of music and tech, and a diverse collaboration between these two worlds.

Cofounder & CEO

Roman Rappak has released critically acclaimed albums, toured the world, and performed on national TV and festival stages. His career has seen him put on immersive installations and exhibitions from North America to Australia.  In 2017, Roman started the band Miro Shot, and using tools that Overview Ark is now offering to all artists, he toured immersive music concerts internationally, securing an album, management and publishing deal in the process.

As a musician and creative director Roman understands the needs of artists & audiences as well as the dynamics of performance & fan experiences. Roman is a regular speaker at international events  as a leading voice on the future of virtual concerts and music ecosystems. 

Cofounder & CEO

Before co-founding Overview Ark, Anne McKinnon wrote professionally as a journalist, reporting on the current state of deep tech. She travelled the world, seeing the most cutting edge breakthroughs in art, technology and media, interviewing leading executives, bootstrapped startups, artists, and engineers to build an accurate picture of the immersive technology ecosystem, and where it may end up.

Anne is an editor and contributor to Forbes writer Charlie Fink’s book “Convergence” on 5G and AR, and her short stories have been featured at Virtual Futures in London. She is a guest writer with VRScout and has hosted global conference sessions in gaming & esports, startups, music and tech. Today, she brings this understanding of emerging technologies and trends to Overview Ark. 

Lead Developer

As development team lead and game design lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Music, Matthew Stevens’ understanding of game development and UX design bridges the gap between real and virtual world experiences designed for live performance.

Music Director

Tomo Carter is a professional musician specializing in drums, percussion, backing vocals and piano. He has toured internationally, in sold out stadiums of up to 35,000 with world renowned artists.

Tomo brings his knowledge of the live events industry and experience in delivering music at large scale global events, in addition to his understanding of narrative arcs within a live show to create the next generation of live and virtual music experiences.
